This place suits me perfectly with free parking, a cozy bar lounge, and delicious meals. The staff once helped me with a room issue late at night, which I fondly remember. I highly recommend visiting for great hospitality. I'm returning for a romantic escape.

Comfortable cottage, friendly staff, and we enjoyed the delicious bartering system for our caught trout, which made our stay even more memorable with the tasty beer and good food offered on-site.
Everything was exactly right.

but the room could've been a lil quieter, heard some noise from the pub. also, could use more options for dogs on the menu.

Cozy cottage with exceptional service
Our stay was delightfully cozy, with a charming cottage that felt like a home away from home. The attention to detail from the staff was impressive, and the food, particularly the homemade breakfast, was simply superb. The inviting atmosphere made it a perfect retreat, and our dog felt equally welcome. The only drawback was the limited options for dogs on the menu, which could be improved.

I enjoyed the location of the inn in the deep countryside. The food was substantial and well-prepared. Breakfast was tasty, but I noticed it only served from 9 to 10 AM, which might not suit everyone. The historic aspects of the dining area added to the experience.

We had a fab time! The food was top-notch, especially the fish pie – just so creamy and delish! Super friendly staff made it even better. The place is a bit tricky to find, so keep an eye out for the signs or you might get lost!

Had an awesome group trip! We checked out the Chelmsford City Racecourse and enjoyed unique cycling shirts. The food was top-notch and the atmosphere was chill. Rooms were comfy and breakfast hit the spot. Perfect for our stay with pets too! Can't wait to go back soon!
Only downside was the bar got a bit crowded, making it hard to find a spot sometimes. But it didn’t ruin our fun!

Beautiful outdoor dining area, Rustic pub character, Engaging local culture
Finding this venue could drive anyone mad due to poor signage!!! A bit more attention to minor maintenance issues would really enhance the overall experience.
